Starting over a week ago, anonymous callers have been ordering large amounts of food from restaurants in Michigan, New York, New Jersey and Washington State, to be delivered to employees at local hospitals.
One such restaurant is Giovanni’s Italian Deli in Secaucus, N.J., who received such a call for a large order to be delivered to Hudson Regional Hospital.
“They only told us their first name,” an employee of Giovanni’s told Fox News on Thursday. “They called us, and they had us donate meals for the nurses and doctors — an assortment of things, 40 platters of pasta, salads, sandwiches. We’re happy to do it. Trust me.”
TRUMP RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN: QUIETLY FEEDING HOSPITAL STAFF
According to reliable sources the anonymous donations are coming from the Trump Re-Election Campaign. One campaign staffer has confirmed this story.
The source said the campaign wanted to not only express gratitude for first responders treating patients with COVID-19, but to support local restaurants.
“They’re doing it as a donor who cares. So, nothing politically is tied to it. … We’re just trying to, you know, show a thank you.”
“They’re trying to send things that are like, local restaurants that may need support [and] cool restaurant icons of the area that may need the business,” said another source.
TRUMP RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN: SUPPORTING LOCAL RESTAURANTS
Sources told Fox News that the campaign also ordered from Nick’s Grill in Kirkland, Wash. (where there were so many heartbreaking deaths at a nursing home); Chit Chat Diner in Morristown, N.J.; Turning Point of Long Branch, N.J.; and Antonio’s Trattoria in the Bronx, N.Y., among others.
The manager of Antonio’s Trattoria confirmed this: a man called the restaurant Monday to have “100 individual orders” delivered to Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.
“It was 20 penne vodkas, 20 pastas with tomato sauce, 30 chicken parmesans, and 30 house salads with grilled chicken. He only gave his first name and said he wanted to remain anonymous.”
An Instagram post from the Chit Chat Diner said: “An anonymous donation providing lunch to some hardworking staff at Hackensack Hospital this afternoon. We are so grateful.
FEEDING HOSPITAL STAFF MORE IMPORTANT THAN RE-ELECTION?
President Trump declared a national emergency three weeks ago when the number of COVID-19 cases rose to 1,000.
The campaign has already spent tens of thousands of dollars supporting local restaurants and feeding hospital workers in four Democrat-run states. They plan to expand this effort as the pandemic continues to strain the country’s hospital systems.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a net worth of between $42 Million and $202 Million. Is she secretly feeding health care workers while they are putting their own lives on the line for COVID-19 patients? How about Senator Mitt Romney? His net worth is between $74 Million to $271 Million. Anyone besides Trump helping these overworked heroes?
We don’t yet know if President Trump is using personal funds to help those who are helping others during this national emergency. However, we do know he is using campaign funds that will be needed to win re-election. Does that mean our president cares more about saving American lives than winning re-election?
