Democrats in the state legislature, who are hellbent on destroying Oregon’s economy in order to grab more money & power, tried yet ANOTHER trick. Eleven GOP senators walked last June, ten walked Monday, thus denying Democrats a quorum in the Senate. They were joined by House GOP Tuesday morning.
DEMOCRATS ONLY FOLLOW THE RULES WHEN IT SUITS THEM
Monday, Senate President Peter Courtney (D-Salem) a long-time legislator, rigged the voting process in the Joint Ways & Means Committee by adding himself. He then voted the Cap & Trade bill out of committee and onto the Senate floor.
DEMS ONLY LIKE BI-PARTISANSHIP WHEN EVERYONE AGREES WITH THEM
Senate Republican Leader Herman Baertschiger, Jr. (R-Grants Pass) announced another GOP walk out:
“Senator Courtney’s actions leave no other option for Senate Republicans but to boycott and deny quorum because cap and trade is on the way to the Senate floor. Democrats refused to work with Republicans and denied every amendment what was presented. Pay attention Oregon – this is a true example of partisan politics. Instead of referring this legislation to let the people decide, the Democrats are willfully ignoring 26 counties and one district (Congressional District 2), representing nearly 2 million Oregonians that have signed proclamations against cap and trade, to push their agenda.”
On February 6th, 1,124 big rigs and 9,500-10,000 Oregonians flooded the state capital FOR THE SECOND to protest the cap & trade bill. The pro-cap & trade people came several days later and numbered a few hundred.
CAP & TRADE: SAVING OREGON REQUIRES LEAVING OREGON
Last June, Democrats needed only two more bodies in the senate chamber in order to cram Cap & Trade down the throats of Oregonians. Eleven courageous senators went home and prepared to leave the state if state troopers were sent to retrieve them.
Governor Kate Brown, a power mad Democrat who never held a real job,* ordered the state police to hunt them down, arrest them and drag them to Salem. This prompted the senators to leave the state for over 20 days in order to prevent a quorum.
CAP & TRADE HOAX WOULD OUTLAW 10-YEAR-OLD TRUCKS
The Bill Would Devastate Oregon’s Economy And Throw Workers In Many Industries Onto Unemployment Rolls. Besides Increasing The Cost Of Living For Each Household By An Estimated $2,000 Each Year, A Number Of Industries Would Be Crippled Or Killed: Tourism, Logging, Trucking, Agriculture, Farming, Mining, Fishing, To Name Just Some Of The Direct Victims Targeted By The Bill.
Within Two Years All Vehicles Used In Commercial Activity Will Be Outlawed Once They Are Ten Years Old. This Would Destroy The Livelihoods Of Thousands Of Self-Employed Oregonians Because They Could Not Afford Brand New Trucks Every 10 Years.
The Bill Calls For 72 Cents Per Gallon Fuel Tax. This Massive Increase In Taxes Would Also Affect Many Other Types Of Businesses Such As Restaurants, Grocery Stores, Any Business That Needs Trucks To Bring Their Supplies & Inventories.
CAN’T LET OREGONIANS VOTE: THEY ARE TOO STUPID
It Is State Law That Any Bill That Increases Taxes MUST Be Referred To The Voters Before Becoming Law. Indeed, Virtually All Tax-Increase Bills Have Been Voted Down Over The Last Four Decades.
Knowing The Majority Of Oregonians Don’t Approve Of This Bill, Greedy, Power-Mad Democrats Have Found A Way To Block Voters From Being Involved. They Are Calling It An “Emergency.”
Democrats have publicly stated that Oregonians are too stupid to vote on Cap & Trade. TRANSLATION: They know it is a hoax and would vote it down.
CAP & TRADE IN OREGON IS USELESS
Oregon’s Carbon Emissions Are Already The Second Lowest In The Nation, With Alaska Being The Only State With Lower Emissions. This Legislation Is Akin To Driving A Bulldozer Through Your House To Get Rid Of A Fly.
Cap & Trade Is Not Needed And It Would Transform Oregon Into An Unrecognizable, Perhaps Third-World-Like, State. At the same time, China, India And Other Developing Economies Continue To Push Massive Amounts Of Carbon Emissions Into The Atmosphere.

*This writer went to law school with the governor. She repeatedly told others that she would be governor one day. Brown never held a job in the private sector. She used her law degree to climb the corrupt Democrat ladder by pandering to Oregon’s public unions, accepting money from George Soros and selling out Oregonians.
Brown’s disappointment at Hillary Clinton’s loss in 2016 (Brown expected to be appointed to Clinton’s cabinet) brought out her rage against those she believed voted for President Trump. The voters who heavily supported Trump, rural and blue-collar voters, would be harmed the most should her cap & trade scheme become law.
