Trump in Iraq

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump met with military personnel on Wednesday, the day after Christmas, at Al Asad Air Base in Iraq. Melania accompanied her husband to a war zone, the FIRST time ever that a First Lady of the United States did so.*

Trump’s whereabouts had sparked speculation among the Mainstream Media.  He did not tweet in more than 17 hours.  The press aides were missing from the WH media office and lights were turned off on the second floor where White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has her office.

President Trump and the First Lady traveled to Iraq late on Christmas night to visit with our troops and Senior Military leadership to thank them for their service, their success, and their sacrifice and to wish them a Merry Christmas,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced via Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

The White House has long had an operating procedure for such presidential visits to war zones.  The White House disclosed Trump’s whereabouts only after Air Force One safely landed in Iraq and Trump was safely on the ground northwest of Baghdad.

Trump told service members gathered for his visit that he has no plans to withdraw troops from Iraq, and intends to use U.S. forces there to strike the Islamic State terrorist group if necessary. “If we see something happening with ISIS that we don’t like, we can hit them so fast and so hard, they really won’t know what the hell happened,” he said.

Air Force One apparently left Joint Base Andrews at about midnight Christmas night, passing over the U.K. and then Hungary en route to a middle-of-the-night (local time) landing in Iraq.

President Trump & the First Lady are now in the air, headed to another, unknown location.

Proud American

*Eleanor Roosevelt was a rather frequent visitor to war zones during WWII. However, she went without her husband. Since Franklin was confined to a wheelchair, she acted as his eyes and ears, investigating what was actually happening. and reporting back to him.

I am an American, a patriot, a Conservative, a Republican & a strong Trump supporter. I retired in order to devote 2020 to getting the best president in my lifetime re-elected. Normal Americans have hope for the first time in decades. But, we MUST NOT relax. We have remained silent for too long while Liberalism has caused significant damage to Americans, to American culture and to our nation. Trump's work must continue through 1/2025. If we want anything of value to remain for future generations we need to act now, speak out now. Laugh every time a Liberal speaks, vote every chance we get & volunteer to campaign for Trump. Don't be intimidated by Liberals. Our nation, our culture is too special to lose.
