“TOTALLY PREPARED FOR A VERY LONG SHUTDOWN” BUILD THE WALL
Early on Friday, President Trump said he was “totally prepared for a very long shutdown.” The chances of a shutdown are “probably very good,” he said.
“It’s totally up to the Democrats” whether or not a shutdown happens, he said.
The stand-off is largely due to President Trump’s $5.7 billion dollar demand for a border wall. Democrats are scared to death. If Trump successfully builds The Wall Americans demand, there will be no stopping his re-election in 20
Midnight was the cut-off to pass the spending bill. Funding expired for nearly a quarter of the federal government, triggering a shutdown heading into the holidays. This would force 400,000 federal employees to go on furlough, or work without pay (all 400,000 will STILL be paid retroactively when shutdown ends).
An array of federal departments, many of whom Americans never heard of, shut down on midnight Friday. This Followed one last round of negotiations between the White House and congressional leaders which failed to break the impasse over funding the border wall that Americans voted for.
LUCKY BUREAUCRATS GET EXTRA TIME OFF FOR CHRISTMAS.
This shutdown is the third one in 2018, although this latest “lapse in appropriations” affects only about one-quarter of the vast federal bureaucracy.
Roughly 400,000 federal employees are affected by the shutdown, with half of them enjoying furloughs over Christmas week. Many of the Americans who pay their salaries will not enjoy the privilege of having a PAID Christmas holiday.
Something is wrong when government “servants” live so much better than those they are SUPPOSED TO serve.

*Schumer voted for the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which funded much of the 700 miles of fences/walls that currently exist along our southern border.
**The postal service, Federal police, TSA, armed forces, utilities, corrections and federal health services would continue to work. In other words, the services that most help Americans will not change.
