Nothing in this world is safe anymore. Everything we’ve grown accustomed too has become contaminated, or in some form deemed “Bad For Your Health”. Hell, the air we breathe has become polluted. Yet we still keep living.
Johnson & Johnson “Family” Company is under fire after it was discovered the baby powder they sell contained Asbestos.
According To Asbestos.com:
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral substance that can be pulled into a fluffy consistency. Asbestos fibers are soft and flexible yet resistant to heat, electricity and chemical corrosion. Pure asbestos is an effective insulator, and it can also be mixed into cloth, paper, cement, plastic and other materials to make them stronger.
After it was discovered Asbestos had been discovered in the talcum powder, J&J executives did nothing to stop it. The executives have known for decades a new report indicates.
Who can we trust? Apparently no one.
Reuters based its report on a review of documents and deposition and trial testimony. It said the review showed that from 1971 to the early 2000s, J&J executives, mine managers, doctors and lawyers were aware the company’s raw talc and finished powders sometimes tested positive for small amounts of asbestos. Those involved discussed the problem but they did not disclose it to regulators or the public, Reuters’ examination found.
By late morning Friday, J&J stock was down 11.15 percent, on pace for its worst day in a decade, when its shares closed down 7.67 percent on Oct. 9, 2008.
