IT IS DONE! Yet another great deal by America’s Dealmaker-In-Chief. Last week President Trump negotiated with Mexico’s new president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador. They agreed that so-called asylum-seekers would remain in Mexico while their applications are being adjudicated.
Sworn in December 1st, and barely three weeks in office, Obrador entered into an agreement that helps America with our illegal immigration problem. At this point, it is not known what Obrador or Mexico gets out of the deal.
TRUMP MAKES DEAL WITH MEXICO TO KEEP “REFUGEES”
Last Thursday, Secretary of Homeland Security, Kirstjen Nielsen, announced an historic agreement to protect our borders. Mexico agreed to hold asylum-seekers from Central America, while they await rulings from US immigration court on asylum claims.
This deal with Mexico went into effect immediately, and removed the KEY scam that foreign nationals have played on America for decades. The arrangement with Mexico will kill the catch & release incentive that brings foreign nationals across the border, and which is to blame for many of the 22 Million illegals currently living in our country.
“We will reduce illegal migration by removing one of the key incentives that encourages people from taking the dangerous journey to the United States in the first place,” Secretary Nielsen said in a statement.
TRUMP’S DEAL STOPS CARAVAN OUTSIDE THE USA
In this deal, Mexico has agreed to give people from Central America humanitarian visas to allow them to stay & work in Mexico. And allows them to stay for the time it takes for U.S. immigration courts to accept or reject their applications for asylum, according to Nielsen.
An asylum-seeker will only be allowed to enter the U.S. if an immigration judge upholds his claim, according to the Department of Homeland Security. He, she and whatever minors are with them will be living in Mexico during the (roughly) two years it takes for an asylum claim to come to the top of the 1000-foot pile of applications swamping our immigration courts.
CATCH & RELEASE POLICIES DIDN’T BENEFIT AMERICANS
Prior to the Era of Trump, each administration had more or less the same policy.
The process was: 1) A foreign national presents himself at a US port of entry claiming that he qualifies for asylum, 2) Through an interpreter, he is taught how to fill out the paperwork and turn it in, 3) He is given a hearing date about two years hence and told to return, 4) HE IS RELEASED TO GO WHEREVER HE WANTS IN THE USA, and 5) He doesn’t bother to attend the hearing.
He doesn’t show up for the hearing because 1) he already knows that he does not qualify for asylum, 2) the “magic words” he was taught to say by Open Border organizations (based here and in his home country) were only meant to get him “in the door,” and 3) He knows that he will likely to be deported.
He had no respect for America’s law when he committed perjury in order to enter, so why should he respect our laws enough to attend the hearing?
