MORE INTERNET CENSORSHIP: XFINITY “PROTECTS” CUSTOMERS FROM “CONSERVATIVE” WORDS
Xfinity/Comcast calls their program “Protected Browsing.” They encourage their internet customers to enable this feature in order to allegedly prevent viruses from infecting the customer’s computer.
According to several customer service representatives & several tech specialists at Xfinity, enabling “Protected Browsing” will prevent a long list of “bad actors” from getting into the customer’s computer. These representatives do not have access to what/who is on this list, but claim this protects computers from viruses.
SOUNDS GOOD, RIGHT? XFINITY IS PROTECTING
ITS CUSTOMERS, RIGHT?
Wrong! Xfinity may very well be protecting their customers from viruses, but they are also “protecting” them from WORDS, from any words that contain ideas, thoughts, facts, news that their censorship vendor deems “conservative.” Words are dangerous, according to Xfinity/Comcast and their censor.
Xfinity does not warn its customers that CENSORS are preventing them from accessing right-leaning websites. So, Xfinity customers are paying a pretty penny for a service they are NOT allowed to fully utilize. This writer will be investigating other internet providers.
THE LIST! Show your customers the list of “suspicious” websites BEFORE we enable “Protected Browsing.” And remove every website that has no malware, spyware and phishing. You are killing Americans’ Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Press and Freedom of Assembly (Association).
CENSORSHIP “PROTECTS” CUSTOMERS
FROM CONSERVATIVE WORDS
When a customer installs the new router Xfinity sends him, he is given the following option: “Protected Browsing is an opt-in service that you can use to help safeguard your home network against malicious content. When enabled, Protected Browsing can reduce the risk of accessing known sources of malware, spyware and phishing for all devices . . . .”
Don’t you just love that term “malicious content?” In the Era of Trump, this means anything Liberals deem unacceptable. It isn’t pornography, nor images of blood & gore, nor profanity. It is any word or fact that the Alt-Left deems not loony-liberal enough.
If Xfinity’s customer scrolls down further he/she is told: “Comcast has engaged a third-party vendor to determine which content should be restricted under Protected Browsing.” So, Xfinity/Comcast thinks they are safe from charges of censorship by hiring someone else to do it? But, of course, they do not name the censorship organization.
Is Xfinity’s censorship vendor owned by the DNC, George Soros, the Clinton Foundation, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the ACLU or some other anti-First Amendment organization?
CONSERVATIVE BLOGS ARE TARGETED
This writer has been writing for blogs for a year and a half. After my husband enabled Protected Browsing, I was locked out of one of the blogs for which I write: www.DailyPresser.com.
Two days and about 10 “customer representatives & tech repairpeople” later, one of the techs was finally able to get me back into the blog for which I am a writer and administrator. He sort of got me back in. I can access the blog as, apparently, any other viewer, but I can no longer jump from the dashboard (where I edit my articles) to the Daily Presser website and back again. I still get that stupid warning: “Looking Out for You.”
Daily Presser, who uses Word Press software, does NOT have malware, spyware or phishing capabilities. The owner and writers for Daily Presser are providing only information and opinions for public consideration. Period. The articles we write tend to be right of center. We provide facts, information and opinions that are mostly lacking in Mainstream Media outlets.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: What the Left deems “conservative” today was very much mainstream thought 20 years ago and are mostly ideas held by the majority of Americans today. In the Era of Trump, Liberals are even turning on their own if the idea is not deemed Loony Left enough, just asked Alan Dershowitz and Paul Welch. About 70% of today’s Americans are deemed “conservatives” by Liberals and thus must, must, must be prevented from speaking.
